Wow, I can’t believe I’m saying that. I never would have thought I, Angela Easley, would have a blog. My main purpose for this blog is to really just document my journey and hopefully help someone along the way.

My name is Angela Easley and I am a virtual assistant as well as working a full-time job. Whew, it can be a handful but I make it work. Some days I feel like I got this in the bag and other days I feel like my world is crumbling lol. But all in all, I love it and am so happy I stumbled upon the term virtual assistant.
It all started with a dessert menu…
My journey started in the heart of the pandemic, in June 2020. My cousin was starting her cheesecake business and I asked her if I could create a menu for her. She agreed, I created it and she loved it! That got the wheels rolling in my head, I bet other small businesses could use the same kind of help. But what would I call it? Document creator, Nah. Business helper, Nah.
I began researching and digging and asking questions. My trusty friend Google came through with the answer, Virtual Assistant!
What’s a Virtual Assistant you ask? A virtual assistant is someone who provides support services to a business from a remote location. I’ll talk more about that in another post :)
After figuring out what to call my new venture, I went crazy consuming content from other virtual assistants. What kind of VA did I want to be? What tools will I need to do my job well? So many things to learn.
Initially, I decided I wanted to design websites. That was something I found interesting and I would be able to do this outside of normal business hours since I still work my full-time job. I began learning WordPress, which is a beast but I’m so proud of myself for learning it.
About 6 months in, I picked up a client who was a photographer and baker with a huge blog and needed help formatting her blogs on her WordPress website. Next, I picked up a client who is a YouTuber and needed help transcribing her YouTube videos into blog posts. A few months later, I picked up a client who is a bookkeeper and has a podcast and she needed help with podcast management. These 3 clients helped me to realize that I wanted my niche to be a virtual assistant to online educators.
And that’s where I am today, Virtual Assistant to Online Educators! I enjoy helping them grow their audience by taking care of their backend management.
So what’s your story? How did you become the entrepreneur you are today?
